The community-first model of The Rowing Channel remains at the heart of this year's production. The broadcast will feature a collection of live video streams at prominent checkpoints on the Charles River. TRC will bring you action uninterrupted in HD from hotspots including the Cambridge Boat Club at the Eliot Street Bridge, the Harvard Weld Boathouse, and the Riverside Boat Club. Livestreams will also be available for the HOCR Finish Line at Herter Park, the HOCR Start Line at Boston University's DeWolfe Boathouse, and the podium at the HOCR Awards Tent.
"Having been a part of HOCR and this production for almost ten years we've gotten to see firsthand how the broadcast has grown with the regatta,"
"Our goal is to deliver something that honors the athletes and excites the fans." The Watersports Broadcasting Company acquired The Rowing Channel in December 2024 and remains committed to its mission of delivering high-quality regatta content to fans and enthusiasts everywhere.
Brandin Grams, Principal Engineer at Netrendity Networks, has been the driving force of The Rowing Channel since its inception in 2014. He shares that, "the Head Of The Charles demands a unique blend of data, connectivity, and talent, unlike any other regatta. With WBC's acquisition of TRC and our new work with Dolby Optiview, we're creating a broadcast experience second to none. Every regatta is unique, and building technology that enhances that uniqueness is critical to engaging fans and this year's HOCR sets a new bar." Netrendity has been the center of integration between course data, commentary, connectivity, and talent, and remains the premier production function for the Head Of The Charles, the WBC, and a dozen other high-profile regattas round the country.

New Features & Partnerships
In partnership with Dolby Optiview, The Rowing Channel is excited to roll out a brand-new multi-view experience on TRC.live. For the first time in rowing, fans can build their own viewing setup and watch up to six feeds at once. All delivered in under five seconds from camera to screen. Dolby Optiview, known for powering breakthrough experiences in cinema, streaming, and live sports, now brings that same innovation to rowing.
"Our work with Dolby Optiview pushes rowing forward in a big way. It's a proof point that this sport deserves the same cutting-edge experiences you'd expect from the biggest in sports. Dolby Optiview's been an incredible partner, and this sets the tone for how we want to advance the sport of rowing."
The Rowing Channel is also proud to announce partnership with JRN, a leading rowing media platform, to produce a daily report show during the regatta, featuring the voices of elite athletes and notable figures of the rowing community.
"After making our first trip to the Head Of The Charles in 2024, we're thrilled to be coming back and working alongside The Rowing Channel again. We're excited to celebrate the athletes and highlight their narratives at one of the world's foremost rowing events."
Founded in 2013, JRN now boasts over 200 writers, podcasters, and editors, making it one of the largest rowing media platforms in the world.
WBC Marketing Executive Whitney Powell shared good news for partners: "For the first time, we're amplifying the reach and inclusion of sponsors and partners by integrating sponsor ads and messages directly into the livestream. We're excited to bring the community closer together with the brands that bring the event to life."
With HOCR 2025, The Rowing Channel continues its mission to be the home for rowing innovation - bringing fans closer to the sport with technology, storytelling, and experiences that match the prestige of the regattas themselves.
